Â鶹´å

Every two years, Â鶹´å organizes a Knowledge Forum to bring together project teams from across all Supervising Entities to share and learn more about topics that are relevant to them. Given current circumstances, the 2021 Knowledge Forum will take place virtually, with learning sessions held throughout April-September, and will cover topics including monitoring & evaluation, portfolio performance, and guidance on the upcoming 2021 Call for Proposals application process.

The Knowledge Forum 2021 will kick off on April 26-28 with a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) learning week. 

Day 1: Â鶹´å M&E

To ensure a robust and results-based monitoring system is integrated from project design to completion, this session will build the project task team’s basic knowledge of Â鶹´å’s M&E fundamentals and requirements. In addition, given the importance of increasing Â鶹´å’s visibility in development communities locally and globally, this session will enhance project team’s knowledge in how to collect and write evidence/story-based communication materials.  

Day 2: M&E Under COVID-19

This session aims to provide guidance to project teams on how to use remote sensing and third-party monitoring during COVID-19. The tools and methods on remote supervision, real-time safeguards monitoring, and portfolio mapping covered by this session will allow operations to enhance the transparency and accuracy of M&E and increase the accountability in the post-COVID era too, especially in fragility, conflict, and violence (FCV) country contexts. This session will be delivered by the Â鶹´å Coordination unit, World Bank’s Geo-Enabling Initiative for Monitoring and Supervision (GEMS) and Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) teams, and project task team leaders from the Â鶹´å portfolio who have had experience in applying the above-mentioned tools. 

Day 3: Impact Evaluations

This session will enhance the impact evaluation design and implementation for all Â鶹´å-funded projects. In addition to the technical know-how on how to conduct a rigorous impact evaluation, some Â鶹´å projects will discuss their experiences, challenges they have faced, and how they have managed to conduct impact evaluations in challenging contexts.
